Good morning, Nassau County! Today brings incredible news from law enforcement regarding the recovery of missing children in our area. We also have a marathon night ahead for the Fernandina Beach City Commission, while the weather takes a turn from stormy today to shivering tomorrow. “Operation Home for the Holidays” recovers 22 local children

Busy night for Fernandina City Commission
If you follow local government, tonight is a marathon session. The Commission has a triple-header: a 4:00 PM Special Meeting & Executive Session; a 5:00 PM Workshop on the Ybor Alvarez Regional Sports Complex; and a 6:00 PM Regular Meeting to re-adopt the millage rate. Residents should also note that the County Planning & Zoning meeting originally scheduled for tonight has been cancelled.
Weather Alert: Storms Today, Arctic Chill Tomorrow
Keep the umbrella handy. A weather system is moving through Nassau County today bringing rain and potential storms. Once this system passes, a cold front will sweep in, dropping temperatures significantly. Meteorologists predict an “arctic chill” starting Wednesday morning.
Traffic Recap: Log Truck Rollover on US 1
Emergency crews spent Monday clearing a significant accident involving a log truck rollover at the intersection of US 1 and CR 108. While the scene has cleared, officials urge drivers to remain vigilant on US 1 today given the wet road conditions. Read more.
