Yulee won the Battle of the Bridge last Tuesday. The Yulee High School softball team defeated host Fernandina Beach 22-4.
Yulee had 15 hits, with Carmen Overstreet leading the charge with three. She had a pair of doubles, a triple and four RBIs. Samantha Joiner (triple and three RBIs), Kierstin Northern, Kyli Mathis (RBI), Baylee Cooper (three RBIs) and Brooklyn Sawyer (double and two RBIs) had two hits apiece. Ashlyn Foller had four RBIs.
FBHS managed three hits, with one apiece from Rylee Murallo, Kacey Stewart and Adriana Lavoie.
The Hornets (4-3) are idle for spring break. They head to University Christian March 23 and host Raines at 6 p.m. March 24.
The Pirates (2-7) return to action after spring break with a trip to Bishop Kenny on March 24. They are back home March 26 with Bishop Snyder. First pitch is at 6 p.m.
