The Yulee Middle School football team hit the road Tuesday to pick up its latest win. The YMS Hornets defeated host University Christian 22-8.
“We feel really good about first-team defense giving up 11 yards of total offense and forcing a turnover,” said Matt Ricks, head football coach at YMS. “Our pass game continues to be strong, as we moved the ball efficiently in the air. Ultimately we played a great competitive game against an up-and-coming UC team that you can tell gets better every week.”
The Hornets head to Joshua Christian Academy, 5520 University Blvd. in Jacksonville, on Sept. 30. They return home for their last two games of the season. Yulee hosts Callahan Oct. 8 and Fernandina Beach Oct. 14. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. for both matchups.
