Lifetime best scores recorded in Paxon meet

The Fernandina Beach High School swim team witnessed some lifetime best scores at its home meet Sept. 25 against Paxon. Coach Bill Stewart reported great races for the Pirates, who beat the Eagles with the combined team scores. The FBHS girls won 109-61, and the Paxon boys won 85-58.

Pirate Nate Morris won the 500-yard freestyle in 6:09.28, and teammate Hunter Thomas was second in 6:54.50. Thomas won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20. Mason Pickett was first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:09.19, and he also won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:36.33.

Logan Cook won the boys 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.91 and the 100-yard freestyle in 50.53

Skylar Revere placed first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.12, and Alexa Mauch secured second with a 1:33.03. Skylar Revere won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.31.

Belen Conley was first in the 100-yard breaststroke, and her teammate, Adalai Kwiatkowski, was second in 1:28.03. Cora Foxwell-Jones won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:16.91 and the 100-yard freestyle in 58.96.

The FBHS girls took the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Rileigh Revere was first in 25.97, Shelby Rothenberg was second in 28.94, and Kendall Doratio was third in 29.94. Rileigh Revere also won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.66, and Rothenberg took the 500-yard freestyle title in 6:30.69.

The FBHS girls 200-yard freestyle relay team took first place in 1:53.06. The 400-yard freestyle relay team was first in 4:30.62.

Fernandina Beach placed first (2:12.53) and second (2:13.78) in the girls 200-yard medley relay team.

Yulee hosts Bishop Kenny Thursday. The meet starts at 5:30 p.m.

The Pirate swimmers will host the district meet Oct. 22 at the University of North Florida.
