The Pirates competed Saturday in the Frank Holleman Invitational in Ponte Vedra. The Fernandina Beach High School girls swim team place seventh overall, and the boys placed 11th.
“Not bad for a 2A school versus 4A and 5A,” coach Bill Stewart said.
He said every Pirate had at least one great swim, and a couple had record-setting days. Skylar Revere set new FBHS records in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events, and Logan Cook set a new record in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.
The girls 200-yard medley relay team of Cora Foxwell-Jones, Rileigh Revere, Skylar Revere and Shelby Rothenberg placed fourth. They also teamed up to place seventh in the 200-yard freestyle.

Skylar Revere was ninth in the 200-yard freestyle and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle. Rileigh Revere placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Foxwell-Jones also placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke and ninth in the 50-yard freestyle.
Cook was fourth in the 200-yard individual medley and third in the 100-yard breaststroke. The girls 400-yard freestyle relay team was 15th, and the boys team placed 10th.
