ESSA receives $15,000 from RYAM
The Elm Street Sportsman Association was awarded a $15,000 donation from RYAM recently.
“Your continued support has helped us uplift our youth, strengthen our community and keep vital programs moving forward,” reads a Facebook post.
Emily’s Promise SK8 Jam

The Friends of Fernandina Skatepark have scheduled the first tournament of the season, the Emily’s Promise SK8 Jam on March 28. The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Poe Pinson Skatepark at Main Beach.
There will be food trucks, vendors and live music.
The event benefits Emily’s Promise, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness of blood clots, pulmonary embolisms and ankle fractures. It’s named in honor of Emily Elizabeth Adkins.

Ultimate Whiting Championship set
The Nassau Sport Fishing Association has added a new tournament to its 2026 Fish of the Season lineup, the Ultimate Whiting Championship. With it being a readily available series, the club’s goal is to get more anglers on the water.
The event is open to all NSFA members and youth, and the angler with the highest total weight for the year. One whiting per season will be counted.

NSFA monthly social
The Nassau Sport Fishing Association will hold its January monthly social at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Kraft Athletic Club banquet hall. The socials are held the fourth Wednesday of the month.
If there is a scheduled speaker the evening will begin at 6:15 p.m., otherwise the meeting announcements and dinner will start at 7 p.m.
