The Pirates built a 30-0 halftime lead Tuesday night at Callahan en route to a 30-6 win over the host Ramblers.
“We started really strong, scoring on our first play of the game, and were able to execute our offense really well,” said Raleigh Green, head football coach at Fernandina Beach Middle School. “The boys played hard, and it resulted in a big county win for us.”
FBMS quarterback Connor Goodman was 3-of-4 passing for 213 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran the ball twice for 45 yards and a TD. On defense, he recorded four tackles and an assist.
Ja’kaden Myers reeled in two catches for 150 yards, both resulting in touchdowns for the Pirates. He also had an interception. Bryce Schrader had a 63-yard TD reception, and he also intercepted a pass.
Jamoni Hall had two catches for 23 yards, and on the other side of the ball, intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble. Davis Ross recorded two tackles, both for a loss, and Jha’lil Jamison had six tackles, a pair of assists and two tackles for a loss.
Forrest Green had five tackles, Kaleb Kuykendall had two tackles and two assists, and Lucas Parker and Jabbarion Mason recorded a tackle and an assist apiece.
Cash Dewitt had two tackles, one for a loss, Jakob Floyd was credited with two tackles and an assist, and Logan Pertkiewicz had a tackle, an assist and one tackle for loss. Pertkiewicz also recovered a fumble.
Ethan Fine had a tackle and a quarterback sack, Miles Miller recorded two tackles and two assists, and Major Green had a tackle, an assist and a QB sack.
FBMS (3-0) hosts University Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
