FBMS Pirates 6-1 with win over Bolles

The Fernandina Beach Middle School football team improved to 6-1 with a 28-14 win at Bolles on Tuesday night.

“Bolles played their style very well, and they controlled the ball the entire first half,” said Raleigh Green, head football coach at FBMS. “We stepped up and made some big plays defensively, and our offense was very efficient, which helped us secure the victory.

“Lucas Parker had an outstanding game for us on the offensive line, which led to us being able to run the ball really well.”

FBMS quarterback Connor Goodman completed all three of his pass attempts for 81 yards and a touchdown. He also helped the defense with three tackles, two assists and a quarterback sack.

Marhean Coleman rushed seven times for 75 yards and a TD. He also recorded five tackles, 11 assists and a tackle for a loss.

Jakaden Myers reeled in two catches for 73 yards and a TD. He also had seven tackles and an assist, and he returned an interception for another touchdown.

Jha’lil Jamison had three carries for 32 yards, and he also had a tackle and eight assists on the other side of the ball.

Bryce Schrader rushed twice for 54 yards and a TD. He also had an 8-yard reception. On defense, Schrader had six tackles, an assist and a tackle for a loss, and he intercepted a pass.

Ethan Fine had a tackle, two assists and a tackle for a loss. Chance Whitaker recorded one tackle and a pair of assists.

FBMS heads to Yulee on Tuesday. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. at The Nest at Yulee High School.
