Take Stock in Children of Nassau County has appointed Alexis Holton as its new Executive Director, the organization announced recently.
Holton brings more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a personal connection to the organization’s mission. She first became involved with Take Stock in Children as a mentor, an experience that left a lasting impression after having once benefited from mentors and scholarships herself.
“Take Stock’s mission resonates deeply with my own journey,” Holton said in the release. “I know how transformative mentorship and educational access can be, and I’m honored to lead an organization that provides these life-changing opportunities for students in Nassau County.”
Before joining TSICN, Holton served as Managing Director of People, Operations, and Strategy at City Year Jacksonville, according to the announcement. In that role, she oversaw strategic planning, organizational development, and partnerships that supported thousands of students annually. She also managed a $5.5 million budget and worked with board and school district leaders to secure donor and community support.
A Nassau County resident for the past decade, Holton lives in Callahan with her husband and their three sons.
“This is where I live, where my children go to school, and where my family has built our lives,” she stated. “I can’t think of a better place to continue this important work.”
The organization also expressed gratitude to outgoing Executive Director Robin Lentz for her seven years of service.
“Robin’s leadership has been instrumental in positioning Take Stock in Children of Nassau for continued success,” said Regina Lee, Chair of the Board of Directors, in the release. “We thank her for her vision, energy, and the countless contributions made over the past seven years.”
TSICN provides low-income, high-achieving students with scholarships, mentors, and educational support to break the cycle of poverty through education. For more information, visit tsicnassau.org.
