The sixth annual Collin Helms Foundation Charity Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 29 at the Golf Club of Amelia Island. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and there is a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Format is a four-person scramble. Cost is $200 per person, and lunch is included. Awards reception follows play.
Proceeds benefit Babe Ruth and a Pirate baseball scholarship.
Collin Helms was 17 years old and a junior at Fernandina Beach High School when he was injured in an accident in 2020. He later succumbed to those injuries.
His parents started the foundation that same year to honor their son, who played baseball for Babe Ruth and FBHS.
Sponsorships are available for the golf tournament, and anyone interested may donate for the silent auction or goodies for swag bags.

“My wife and I are so grateful for the results in the previous years,” said Joey Helms in a letter from the foundation. “We are thrilled to help make a lasting and sustainable impact each year. Our aim is to better the tournament each year, while continuing to find ways to grow in a modest but manageable fashion.”
Joey Helms said the silent auction is a big hit each year and past donations included hotel stays, golf foursomes, fishing charters and gift cards and gift baskets.
“We cannot express enough gratitude for all the help and support we have each years,” Joey Helms said in the letter. “It’s a true testament to the kindness that surrounds our community.”
