FBHS add three to Hall of Fame

By Beth Jones

Fernandina Beach High School inducted three members into its Hall of Fame Friday night during the homecoming football game.

Every year, alumni and former staff members from FBHS are inducted into the Hall of Fame, and their names are listed on a permanent plaque at the school. The Hall of Fame shines a light on inductees’ achievements, giving them the recognition they deserve.

Betty Little worked in the FBHS cafeteria from 1991 until 2012, when she transferred to the custodial department, where she worked until she retired.

Little is still active on the FBHS campus, working the gat at most athletic events and as a substitute custodian.

Jeff Stockstill, a 1979 graduate of FBHS, was a three-sport letterman. Stockstill attended Clemson University on a football scholarship and was a member of the 1981 undefeated National Championship team. He led the team in receiving the following year on the way to the 1982 ACC championship

Stockstill later signed a contract to play for the USFL Jacksonville Bulls.

Jason Mudd is a 1994 graduate of Fernandina Beach High School. After graduating from the University of Missouri’s acclaimed Missouri School of Journalism, he began his career in public relations.

Mudd founded Axia Public Relations in 2002, and Forbes Magazine named it one of America’s best PR agencies. Mudd advises some of America’s most admired brands and has won accolades, including an Emmy Award. The World Communications Forum named him North America’s best PR leader.

Anyone who would like to nominate someone for next year’s class may find guidelines and nomination forms under the alumni section of the FBHS website, Fernandinahigh.com, or at the FBHS front desk.
